If you’re using the Gunfighter with KG12 grip, you might like this: VKB HQ has released an updated KG12 grip profile that enables the pinky switch to be a shift button, so you can have up to 12 buttons when rocking that KG12 grip.
Run VKBdevCfg, click on your device name to make it active
From the Action tab, click on “Load”
From the Action tab, click on “Set” and confirm the dialog box
The VKBDevCfg sofware will restart your device
Done! 12 programmable buttons to use in your favorite sim
Note: When pressing and holding the pinky switch, while at the same time pressing the trigger – for example, the trigger has a different function than the trigger would have without the pinky switch depressed. This goes for all of the other KG12 buttons; you can program different functions based on them being switched/unswitched.

The next step in the MCG Pro Production:
Based on this initial MCG mockup, VKB HQ will make a few changes to the following items based on their evaluation and testing:
Folding trigger shape
Brake lever shape
Minor adjustments to grip shape
Once these changes have been finalized, VKB HQ will make a final version of the mockup, and, if everything checks out, launches the tooling process to get production underway.
About MCG Compatibility:
VKB HQ is planning a special edition of the MCG – the ‘MCG MG’ with a 5-pin connector. This version will allow backward compatibility with older generation VKB-Sim controllers, such as:
Black/Fat Mamba Mk.II / Mk.III
Gladiator Pro Mk.I
Besides having a 5-pin connector, the MCG MG is no different than its 3-pin counterparts – MCG MG (14 programmable buttons, 5 analog axes) and MCG MG Pro (24 programmable buttons, 6 analog axes).
This solution is still up for discussion at VKB HQ, as there’s another option: instead of offering the MCG MG variant with 5-pin connector built in, an adapter could be made available instead.
Such adapter would allow the 3-pin MCG to be adapted to the aforementioned older controllers. However, an adapter would add around 20mm to the overall height of the MCG grip – which might not be the most desired outcome.
Please share your thoughts on what you would prefer in this dedicated VKB Forum Thread.
With the help of Gunfighter owner ‘tecman69’, VKB HQ was able to identify a potential issue that could affect the Gunfighter’s x-axis dry clutch damper; the screws that hold down the dust cover are 2 mm too long and could add unwanted friction.
To resolve this, please go ahead and loosen the two forward screws of the Gunfighter’s dust cover by 1-2 full turns (see image above). This should take care of it!
Just to let you know: We’ve added an SSL certificate to VKBcontrollers.com to make the overall experience more secure across the site – including user accounts, the webshop, and the checkout.
At the same time, we’re looking to update our payment gateway to include other options, such as Direct Bank Transfer (already active), Credit Card payments via ‘Stripe’ (already active), and later ‘Amazon Pay’. These changes come in the light of PayPal being not a good fit for how VKB operates to be a viable partner for VKB HQ at this time. We hope that this will improve in the very near future, but for now, we’ve stopped using PayPal until further notice.
VKB HQ asked me to reach out to you to see who is interested in an MCG or MCG Pro for their Mamba Mk.II, Mamba Mk.III, Vintage Mamba, or Gladiator Pro Mk.I sticks. These sticks share the same gimbal with the older 5-pin connector layout, compared to the new 3-pin connector of the Gunfighter or Gladiator Pro Mk.II.
Instead of making an adapter for the MCGs to fit these older sticks, VKB HQ offeres a limited production run of MCG and MCG Pro grips that will fit directly onto these Mambas and Mk.I Gladiator Pros. The name will be ‘MCG MG’ and ‘MCG MG Pro’ respectively (with ‘MG’ pertaining to Mamba/Gladiator).
So, if you’re rocking one of these older sticks mentioned above and you want an MCG MG, I would like get a head count so I can send the numbers to VKB HQ to produce enough units.
Please contact me and let me know if you’re interested in either the:
VKB MCG MG (14 programmable buttons, 5 analog axes), or the
VKB MCG MG Pro (24 programmable buttons, 6 analog axes)
Once VKB HQ gets closer to producing these, I will update everyone with news regarding final pricing and availability of the MCG/Pro MG.
VKB HQ released a new T-Rudder profile that has the T-Link’s virtual toe brake functionality built in. This means that there’s no need to run the extra T-Link.exe anymore in the background while flying your favorite sim when having a Gunfighter and a set of T-Rudders Mk.IV connected via BlackBox USB controller:

Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG) Range of Flight Control Grips
(Shenzhen, PRC / Norman, Oklahoma USA / Utrecht, The Netherlands) – April 28, 2017
VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG) Range of Grips
After VKB’s initial announcement of the MCG Grip back in March of 2017, VKB HQ has gathered a lot of useful feedback from the simulation community across the web. This feedback changed the course of the MCG development and VKB has decided to expand the Modern Combat Grip range to include a total of three variants.
‘Modern Combat Grip’ Design
The real grip was developed by AVIAAVTOMATIKA in Russia for Sukhoi’s modernized Flanker series of fighter jets, as well as their 5th generation prototypes. VKB engineers adapted the ergonomics of the real Flanker grip for the use in flight simulations with only minimal design changes.
All MCG variants share the following design features:
Made with OMRON and ALPS buttons and switches
Grip made from ABS plastic (injection molding)
Contactless ministicks (analog* or digital modes) for Slew Control w/ integrated Push Button
Trigger 1: Dual-stage trigger
Trigger 2: Metal trigger (foldable)
Metal analog* wheel brake lever with contactless MaRS sensor
Adjustable palm rest
Quick release fastening
Optional external twist adapter** (currently under development)
* Except for MCG-TM; Thrustmaster® bases only function in digital mode
** Except for MCG-TM; optional twist adapter not compatible with Thrustmaster® bases
Specific ‘Modern Combat Grip’ features (click image to enlarge):
14 Programmable Buttons
5 Analog Axes
23 Programmable Buttons
Compatible with Thrustmaster®
Warthog™ and Cougar™ bases; no adapter needed
*NOTE: To ensure compatibility with the Thrustmaster® controller base, the MCG’s axes controls (ministicks/brake axis) will function as digital hat switch/buttons only
24 Programmable Buttons
6 Analog Axes
Trigger 2: Metal Folding Trigger with two position sensors (flipped up or down)
Swappable thumb button (push button or 4-way switch with push)
MSRP $99 (plus shipping)

‘Modern Combat Grip’ Production Status:
Currently in the mock-up production phase for final ergonomics validation and testing
Order availability, shipping date, as well as final MSRP for MCG-TM and MCG-Pro to be determined and announced at a later date – stay tuned!
in the last couple of weeks, VKB North America has been slammed with orders, and as of yesterday VKB HQ in China doesn’t have any stock allotted for VKBcontrollers.com left. They should have more stock available for us by mid-May, 2017.
NOTE: This does not affect any Gunfighter orders placed before April 27, 2017. All current Gunfighter orders are being processed and shipped from VKB HQ as planned.
Sorry about the inconvenience – and thank you for all your business so far!
